What is a Segway® Personal Transporter?
A Segway Personal Transporter (PT) is a self balancing transporter designed for one person and manufactured by Segway Inc in the state of New Hampshire.

The Segway PT has gyroscopes build in the base that communicate with the computer on board to respond to your movements and adjust the wheels to the motion of your body. It's easy to learn how to drive and most riders said that is much easier than learning how to ride a bike.
Who can ride a Segway PT?
Riding a Segway PT is easy. We will train you before you start the tour and you will need to see our Safety Video before starting the tour. Our Segway PT training can take anything from 20-45 minutes depending on the riders and the size of the group.

Although learning is easy... riding a Segway PT is not for everybody. Pregnant women are not allowed to participate due to fall risk. Riding is NOT recommended for; people with disabilities, mobility issues, under 14 years of age, over 70 years of age.

We reserved the right to deny service to anyone who doesn't follow our safety and courtesy guidelines.
Are there any restrictions/requirements?
  • For your own safety the following restrictions/requirements apply:
    - Be age 14 or older
    - Weight 100-250lbs (45-113kg)
    - Under 18 w/parent or guardian
    - Helmet provided and required
    - Sign Liability Waiver
    - No prior alcohol drinking
    - No pregnant guests allowed
    - Respect guides and other guests
    - Not have mobility issues
    - Not recommended if over 70
    - Mobile devices/cameras can't be used while riding
Where do we start?

Depending in which tour or event you are taking:
- We may start at the winery or vineyard you selected for the tour.
- We may start at the location of your event (corporate and private events)
- We may start at one of the other locations we start such as downtown Livermore.

Please check your confirmation email to see your starting location and time.

Can we take pictures?
Yes, you can, but not while you are riding. We will make stops in our staff will assist you to take pictures. Safety first!
What if I have to cancel, change or I don't show?
We encourage to check our cancellation policy in our terms and conditions as well as our safety and privacy page.
What if I am late or change my mind?
We do our best to stay in schedule, however you can always call us and depending on the group or other participants, we might be able to accommodate your needs. We will wait as long as we can, but at some point we will depart. Best thing to do is communicate with us, we want you to have be part of the fun.
Why do I have to make a reservation? / Do I need a reservation?
Yes you need a reservation, we have limited availability of transporters and all resources based the tour size. We also like to notify the places that we are coming, so that they can make arrangements if necessary.

We might be able to take a walk-in (last minute) booking, just give us a call at (925) 337-6323, and we will do our best to make it work.
What about cancellations for weather or other reasons?

Cancellations and No-Show:

All Reservations require full payment prior to the tour. We will send an e-mail confirmation of the specific date and time of your tour. A full deposit will be issued when canceling 72 hours or more prior to the scheduled tour time. We have a limited amount of Segway PT's for tour use - Both equipment and guides are held for your specific reservation. No shows are charged in full and will not be rescheduled. The deposit WILL NOT be refunded for any reason and booking time and /or date cannot be changed within 72 hours of your scheduled tour.

A signed orientation guide form and liability waiver are required prior to your tour departure.

Cancellation due to weather conditions:

We may decide to cancel a tour if extreme weather conditions exist or are foretasted. However Segway Personal Transporters can perform in a wide range of weather conditions. If we decide to cancel a tour you will be notified as soon as possible and will receive a full refund, or if you prefer we will issue a tour voucher for another day. If rain is expected we will provide poncho's for your convenience.

Our personal transporters have a weather resistant bag where you can store your belongings while riding.

Cancellation or Changes due to venue events:

Some of the venues/business we visit during a tour have a standard schedule that we follow. However in the event of a special or unforeseen event, the venues may decide to not allow tours for the day. In such case we will notify you as soon as possible and offer a comparable option or alternative tour

How fast can I ride?
Our personal transporters cannot go faster than 12.5mph, that is a factory setting that has to follow federal regulations. So the fastest you might go is up to 12.5mph, however we might set a slightly lower speed depending on the person or group.

By the way, there is also a turtle mode available, which is normally used for learning.
How long is the tour?
Our most popular tours are between 2 and 2.5 hours, depending on where we go and how many riders we have. We assign anything from 15 minutes to 35 minutes for training.
Can I purchase a Segway Personal Transporter from you?
Yes, you can, we are a Segway Authorized Dealer.

What should I wear? / Do I have to wear a helmet?
Wear comfortable clothes that matches the weather (of course), but we wouldn't recommend loose sandals, or high heals, long skirts or anything that can touch the floor.

Yes, you have to wear a helmet when you are riding, is part of the requirements. We will provide it.
What about gratuities? / Can I tip the staff? / How much should I tip?
Yes, you can and we will very much appreciate it. Gratuities are not included unless otherwise specified.

If you feel that the staff provided you with a great experience... please feel free to tip, is always nice to receive a little extra for a good work day.

For some groups we will charge a standard gratuity percentage, but we will let you know in advance. If we charge tips in advance the staff won't be allowed to take any additional tips.
Can I rent a Segway PT?
Yes you can as long as we do the actual training. If you already know how to ride, we will do a re-cap (just to make sure), and ask you to sign a release of liability, watch our safety video and training session form.

We will required a valid and current id and a major credit card (visa, mastercard or amex). We might put a hold in your card.
What about Private or Corporate Events or Birthday Parties?
Talk to us we love doing corporate events, but more important than anything, we want to know what you have in mind, so that we can work with you and make of your event a memorable one!

For special events, we can meet you at one our standard departure locations, or we can meet you at the event location.
